My Favorite Tenacious D Show Highlight

I almost forgot...my favorite moment was when Lee brings out this toy saxophone and Jack Black starts to play it. The tune was amazing!!!!...it turns out it was a default tune on the saxophone and Jack Black was pretending to play it...it was the funniest sound. I laughed super hard.

Saw Tenacious D on Tour!

This past Wednesday, Tenacious D was in town for two shows, which were the concluding two dates for their 2006/2007 tour! I had to go.

With no ticket in hand - since the shows were $60 a ticket - a little too much for Tenacious D shaninigans, I ventured down to the Queen E and waited for the ticket to come to me. Someone offered me a ticket and I ended up getting inside for $30. Good deal - woohoo!

The show was fun!! Tenacious D had a comedian open up the show who played the part of a bad 70s lounge comedian like the Tony Clifton character in that Andy Kaufman bio movie, starring Jim Carrey. The crowd was just hissing and chanting you suck the whole time, amongst other profanities! The you suck! you suck! chants got replied to with "I do, suck the money right out of your pockets and into mine, as I'm getting paid handsomely for this gig. LOL. Great Roast. Then Tenacious D stepped on stage!

Jack Black and Kyle Gass - Jables and Rage Kage (and Lee!) - conversed with the crowd consistently and played all their tunes like opener Kielbasa Sausage, Wonder Boy, Rocket Sauce, FGH, Tribute and some of the new tunes from their Pic of Destiny movie soundtrack. It was funny, I laughed a ton. Their set was at best a college theatrical which made it super funny too...good times. It was supreme...and taco supreme...in a cutlass supreme.
